My Girl My Woman My Friend

SUMMARY

Back on their college days, Gianna Choi was always caught up on day dream of her first love Jin, ( Lee Jae Jin ) saving her life on an emergency situation. In reality she was in a big trouble when one of her theater team mates playing a significant role on their upcoming play dropped out up so suddenly due to a family problems. 2 weeks from then will be the day of presentation. Their time left isn't enough to re-cast their play and she needs to find someone to replace the role as soon as possible or she and her team may fail the course if she couldn't resolve the matter. She has already a second thoughts of shifting to criminology whenever she fail this course again. Arts and Literature is always been her passion, but if she could be in Criminology, she may have a chance to get close with Jin. Not until Gia was able to cross path with Shin Ki Yoon also known as Sky. Many in the University knows that this introvert yet a cheerful guy is a nephew of the famous film maker/director Shin Tae Won. But not like his uncle, Sky passion alone is music and song writing.Gia try and try her best to please Sky convincing him to join her team even just once to save her play. Sky was amazed by her passion and determination and so he was convinced and the play was presented successfully. Since then their intimate friendship was born along with her childhood bff Chaerim. One day Sky accidentally bumped into an old lady who needs his help. Before the old lady left, she left him with a mysterious smile and word, " Your soulmate has the same palm line as yours."  Later he arrived late in the classroom where he seats right in front of Gia and Chaerim then he told the two that on his way he bumped into a weird lady and he told them what the old lady said. Then he reach on Gia's hand and compared it to him. He was surprised that they were almost the same. Chaerim then started teasing saying " chukkahaeyo". But Gia disagreed, telling them not to believe on that thing and that Jae Jin will  become her soulmate.   It was Valentines Day and at the same time that was The University Foundation Day. Jin and his group held a charity event inviting everyone in the campus that they can participate. Gia of course volunteered and finally Jin noticed her. That day also Sky tried to earn some confidence to confess his feelings for Gia, but Gia was excited to tell all her friends including Sky that she Jin gave her chocolates. Sky then choose to just forget his confessions. 7 Years After Graduation, Gianna became a successful film script writer working in contract under a certain film production group, and in 4 good years in relationship with Jin. Just as like as she ever day dreamed a long time ago, 5 years ago she was almost harassed by some gangsters while on her way home that one very late night. So happened Jin passed by and he saved her.  Jin is now an Private Intelligence Agent and they started dating since then, even though they hardly seen each other for most of the time because of Jin's nature of work. Gia's family is in Busan, and she is staying with Chaerim.Chaerim is married with 2 kids and Sky on the other hand became a High School Music professor at the same University. He never stops writing songs during his spare time and every Saturday night he is at least performing 2 - 3 songs at Han Daejun's restobar, also one of their college friends. Unfortunately, among their circle of friends, Sky's love life is a messed up.  Daejun's place usually became their meeting hub every weekend nights. Chaerim cannot join them all the time, so Sky managed to keep Gia in company and sends her home. Just like with Chaerim, she is very close and comfortable Sky. Chaerim's home is quite far from the City, everytime Jin isn't around and she's been working overtime, Sky's place is her 2nd home. He even entrusted his door pin code lock to her. And this is also one the reason why Sky can't keep his relationship. Every time he started to date he is always late and those girls were jealous over Gia. After all this time Sky can't put Gia away of his life. One time, there was a girl Sky brought back to his condo, they stayed at the living room sharing a bottle of wine together when suddenly Gia stepped out of his room with her hair too messy and she is wearing his shirt that is almost a dress to her. They were all startled, and ends up with the girl leaving his place and never contacted him ever again.  She apologized and tried ran after the girl to explain but Sky stopped him. She cannot go out with that outfit and messy air. Then she promised she will do her to make up with her mess next time. What else can poor Sky do, take a pillow and blanket from the room and bring with him at the coach. In the morning before she leave and before Sky awakes, she will prepare him a special breakfast a way of saying sorry. That point in time came Gia and Jin's relationship was on the rock. She has a suspicion of Jin's becoming colder towards her. At first, She never thinks Jin might be jealous of Sky only he doesn't shows. But he can't be with her most of the time neither he cannot make Gia choose between them. But Gia later realizes it. It was Friday noon when Gia came to visit him at the University and bring him a packed lunch. She found him alone at music room sitting in front of the piano seems like working on his another new song. She left the lunch box at his table she sat beside him and lay her head on his shoulders while listening to his music on a silent. Sky stops and asked her what's the matter because he knows it something is wrong with her. Gia told about her situation with Jin. And she thinks that its about time to keep her distance with Sky, she lets him know, to lessen the feeling sudden culture shock. When Gia left, holds his chest as if it was hard for him to breath. The next day it was Saturday and he is back at Daejun's place, he plays his new song but Gia wasn't around to hear that song.

2 weeks later. Gia and Chaerim heard it from Daejun that Sky resigned at University.

Gia rushed at his condo to confirm and he found him packing his things up. She confronted if it is because of what she told him last week, she will keep a few distance but she didn't mean he must leave. But Sky just gave him a smile  telling her it's not because of that. He explained, it is for him an his future. He further explained that it's time for him to managed their family music studio in Canada. Gia cannot hold her tears from falling, she embrace him telling him she will gonna miss him badly. He didn't response he moved to lose from her embrace telling her, his condo will be hers for a while. And leave her with a box containing all his songs that she might use in her story writing. Since she always gets the inspirations of her stories from his songs and some them were used on their film OST. .

Since that day Sky left there he just keep in touch few times until never. Even Gia keeps sending her voice mail, and messages on his facebook, it seems unseen at all. She started to miss him yet very upset with him. It's been a long time that it was like that she keeps her self busy and having more time with Jin now. Jin finally decided to proposed a marriage, she accepted it, she should feel happy, she's been daydreaming for this moment all of her life. But why she still feel incomplete. She talk to Chaerim about Jin's proposal and what she really feels about it. " Is it because of Sky?" Chaerim asked and then  flashing back their days back in college, that time when Sky took her hand and compares her palm to him. " When Sky turns his back on us I saw you smiled. I was wondering that time what does that smile means. " .. Chaerim continues, " that time I was thinking you like him. But when Jin is suddenly on the scene, that thought is ruined." Then Gia suddenly remembers that was the first time Sky makes her heart flutters. But then on that valentines day she saw Sky giving a present to a girl and flutters that girl as well. ( that present suppose to be for her ). She thinks maybe he is just that kind of guy.

She's back at his condo and at the moment she finally remembers to open the box and play all his songs. There were 2 songs that touches her the most and made her start to write a new story. That one song he last played at Daejun's place and the other one was a song the tells about a guy with a girl that he loved and a friend at the same time. As her story goes she realizes that she is almost writing their own story. That moment she became emotional and finally realizes that Sky was really her soulmate and what she feel all this time for him that was real love. How about Jin, she loved him too. Now she's in dilemma.

Gia decided to cool off with Jin and gave the engagement ring back to him. For her it would be unfair that she feel so unsure about getting married to him. She asked him to give her some space to think about it. It really hurts Jin but he also loved her enough not to make it harder for her. He already sensed it out not so long ago that Gia actually loves Sky

2 years later her story finally on the film entitled " My Girl My Woman My Friend ". . The singer named Enzo  recorded the main soundtrack that songs written by Sky. But the other song was suppose to be a duet. Sky actually composed that song hoping that one day he will able sing it together with Gia at Daejun's place. The productions offered Gia to perform that one song  with Enzo since they also knew that she came from the musical theater group and she actually can sing very well too.

Gia did inform Sky through another email about the new film and his songs were used in the soundtracks.In promotion of the film, the main OST that song  Enzo performs with Gia was also released. Sky was able to watch the music video and read Gia's messages. He replied, congratulating her for her another story released on screen and that she did great in that song. He also said, he is coming home soon for Daejun and Minyoung's  wedding, he was Daejun's best man.

The day before DaeMin's wedding, Daejun's friends including Chaerim and Gia throw them a shower party. That moment Sky is also expected to arrive. Gia was anxious at the same time very excited to see Sky again. She just made up her mind to confess her feelings for him. Later Sky arrives with a surprise to everyone with a pretty sophisticated Japanese girl beside him. He introduced Lady Yui to everyone, his business partner. But every can see it that she is more than his business partner. Yui gave more attentive greetings to Gia when Sky introduced them. " Oh... and so you are Miss Gianna Choi... You're very much prettier in person I can see.."  greeting her as if Sky already told her a lot about Gia.

At the whole time of the party Gia felt insecure, Sky is looking after much of Yui than anyone else. He changed, he is more attractive now but no longer  the cheerful Shin Ki Yoon she used to know. He even not wearing his eyeglasses anymore.

The next scene, It was late night Gia finds herself  with Jin at the Han River Park. Sitting on the stair foot walk facing the river, both having a shot of beer in can. " How funny isn't it.. 2 years ago I dumped your marriage proposal because of another man, and that same person didn't miss me at all.. stupid I am.."
" What do you want me to do now? If only I can take you back.." Jin answered
" What I want you to do is to give yourself another chance to love again. You deserve to be happy not with the stupid girl I am... For comforting me now, komawoyo ( Thank You ), this will be the last time for me to bother you."

At DaeMin's wedding day reception along with the bride and groom everyone with partner was requested to join the couple at the dance floor. Chaerim and his husband joined the couple and so Gia and Sky was left behind on their table. To break the awkwardness, Sky reach his hand to Gia asking her to dance with him.
The moment when Sky held her in his arms, she wanted to embrace him and tell him that she misses him so much, but Gia is holding back. But then she tried to look into his eyes and about to begin with her confession, Sky was able to speak first telling her that tomorrow he is flying back to Japan with Yui.. Instead of her confessions, she just said, " I see... Have a nice trip for both of you then.. but you have seen the movie at least.." ... " We are planning to watch it tonight..".... he answered.

After that dance later excused herself from the newly weds and the rest that she needs to go first that the is having a meeting with their director. The fact is can't pretend any longer that everything with her is alright.

That night after the wedding, Sky and Yui watched the movie together.
The movie ends with the girl running after  her guy bestfriend at the airport with her love confessions.
When they were back at the Sky's condo after the movie, at that moment Gia came out from his door carrying a box of her stuffs she left in there during her stay. Sky offered a hand to help her but she refused and then she left not bothering them anymore. Yui was surprised how close they were that he let's Gia stays in his unit. Yui notice that Sky watches Gia's back till shes gone through the elevator.

Later while their packing their things up, Yui asked him, if even just a little he is hoping Gia will do the same thing just like that girl did at the end of the movie.
" I don't think so she will do that.." He answered
" I came along here with you to meet the girl I want to win over your heart. I couldn't savor the win if my opponent isn't fighting back. Both of you are stupid, I'm wondering how many years you both wasted for playing so numb.. " ... " I'm giving you one last chance to catch her now before I change my mind.."

Yui now wanted to go back in Japan alone. Yui's family was actually a Business tycoon. A partner of Sky's parents business in Japan. Yui was attracted to him and their parents wanted to marry them off one day, but it's still up them. Their both families not really forcing them the engagement. Sky just decided himself a try, and Yui knows it all along.

Yui did flies back to Japan alone and Sky gone at Chaerim's house to make things up  with Gia. But Gia wasn't around, she was on vacation at Jeju island along with her production team mates.

 In Jeju, Gia challenge herself to climb the Halla mountain alone, she released all her feelings of upset with hardship of reaching the peak of the mountain. There's a lot of other hikers around too. When she was able to reach the peak she found a better and isolate place far from the others where she  was able able to shout out all the things that stuck in her chest. Closing her eyes confidently she shouted all the things she wanted to confess with Sky..
 " Shin Ki Yoon-ah, i-pabooya.. ( You're stupid ) but I miss you... I really miss you... Did you ever miss me too? Don't you? Don't you know that I am hurt... too much ...
      Shin Ki Yoon-ah, ...saranghanda...( I love you ) ".....

there was a moment of silence... then suddenly someone beside her also burst out...
" Gianna Choi.... Mianhamnida.... Jungmal mianhamnida ( I'm sorry... really really sorry )
For being such a coward mianhamnida.... I hope you can forgive me and give another chance...

- Right there Gia almost could not believe, Sky is a just 2 meters away standing right next to her.-

" I miss you... I really do.... I loved you ever since.... I love you till now.... and I still want to love you tomorrow. " They are looking at each others eyes while he was saying those words.. Gia did not held back her tears anymore while Sky is coming closer with her and reach to hug her tight. Before Gia could say another words again, Sky sealed her lips with a kiss...More of passionate kiss and warm embraces.

Ending scene at Daejun's bar with Daejun and Minyoung and Chaerim and his husband .
 Sky is back with his gig. Instead of his piano, with him was his acoustic guitar and started to sing the 1st two stanza of the song  and on latter part  Gia join  him on stage.
